When I was in grammar school, I remember always being asked to bring a composition notebook to class on my first day to write in as a journal.  When I saw this dress, it brought back memories of being a little girl and writing all my secrets and dreams for myself in those notebooks.  

This dress is so versatile, I dressed it down for this post with my riding boots and trench coat, but it can also be dressed up with a colorful pair of heels and blazer.

Getting Back on Track

Hello everyone! We are sooo sorry we have been slacking on updates; its been a crazy past two weeks, but we're back and are so excited for the new posts!  To update you, we have decided to dedicate an entire week of posts to men's styling, so if any of you have anything you'd like us to touch base on for your boyfriends, husbands, friends, family, etc,  please please please comment below.  

Spring is around the corner and transitioning from cold to warm weather can be difficult at times, but it can be simple if you remember one word: Layering! In this outfit post, I have on three layers: from the bejeweled tank under the netted sweater topped off with the fur vest.

Sometimes Opposites Attract

 So many people who live in New Jersey don't take advantage of the fact that the city is right across the Hudson River.  Me and D'sirre decided we would use it to our advantage and share it with all of you.
There are quite a few different textures in this outfit: from the distressed leather bomber to the sequin top down to the jersey leggings. This has been a big favorite of mine, mixing two different styles together, but it only works with some cases. Try to keep it within two styles, it keeps the outfit more conformed. (I love wearing sequins during the day, they tend to catch the sunlight in a way fluorescent lighting just doesn't.)

It's all about the Hue

J. Crew dress, H&M tights, Forever 21 blazer, booties, necklace, bracelet, sunglasses, rings, Pandora watch, thrifted belt

Its been a lot warmer than usual for a north east winter, so we took advantage of the weather to take some photos outside without having to worry about the frigid cold. After having the best pizza known to anyone in the NJ area, Benny Tudinos in Hoboken, we found a cobblestone alleyway which was the perfect location to blend and contrast with the outfit I picked out.  Winter always seems to set me in a mood where all I want to wear is dark and gloomy colors, but this blazer and necklace definitely add something to the outfit that a black blazer just wouldn't do.  (I love layering a blazer on top of just about anything to add more sophistication and dress it up.)
