Strawberry Skirtcake

Forever 21 button down, skirt, rings; Vintage bow pendant; Aldo Shoes; Essie nailpolish- To Buy or Not To Buy

Its been a while since I wore a pretty pink skirt. I rarely wear pink to begin with, but I forgot how feminine it makes me feel and how flattering it can be if worn properly. Its also that time of year when there are plenty of graduations, First Communions, and family parties to go to.  I went for a preppier look with my pleated skirt and button down woven because I know there are plenty of girls out there that can have trouble pairing a skirt like this with a shirt. In my mind, I say, "Keep It Simple". A little bit goes a long way, so the next time you're going through your closet, don't second guess yourself, chances are you're like me and will end up wearing the first outfit you tried on to begin with. :)
Happy Tuesday!

White Noise

Forever 21 dress, ring, necklace; American Eagle jacket; Shoe Dazzle shoes; Etsy ring; New York and Company purse; Essie: Van D' Go, Carnival; Sephora for OPI: Queen of Everything

Hearing about a castle in New Jersey, at this day in age, I was so intrigued to visit and use the venue for a post to share with you!
Pleated dresses and skirts have been making their way into my closet lately along with thick, 4-inch heels, and this classic denim jacket. I haven't worn a plain, white dress since my First Communion, but it was so refreshing and crisp- I loved it! I never believed in the whole "white after Memorial Day and before Labor Day" law that people seem to think exist. If it looks amazing and is weather appropriate, why wait? Fashion was never about abiding rules or laws anyway.
Happy weekend, my lovely followers! :)

Pick-Me-Ups

Everyone needs a few pick-me-ups every so often to get them through rainy days or bad weeks at work or school. Here are just a few of my favorite things that always tickle my fancy when time seems like its slow and dreary in the middle of the month:

Nights out for dinner with the girls are a great way to catch up and get away from the stress from work, school, and life. {I look forward to these twice a month.}

 Family BBQ's usually result in family reunions where we act goofy and reminisce of years gone by. {Target straw fedora; Forever 21 top}

 I'm currently obsessed with Instagram; an app that lets you blog through photos. I try to post a photo everyday, whether it be an outfit of the day, food, or just random finds. {I love my followers and their photos. A lot of the users are very talented and see such magnificent things all over the world.} {American Eagle denim jacket, skinny jeans and bag; Forever 21 sweater and booties; Old Navy tank top; Macy's scarf; J. Crew IPhone case}

 Manicures- whether it be self or professional- always make me feel better on a gloomy day. {I love playing with trends and fun colors.} {VanD'Go and Carnival - Essie; Queen of Everything- Sephora by OPI}

I have this new obsession with pleats. They're just so feminine and flirty and contrast amazingly with my leather bomber! {Skirt and dress- Forever 21}

Raspberry Gelato

 Target cardigan; American Eagle tube top, white distressed denim; Forever 21 necklace, rings, bracelets, belt, sunglasses; Mandee wedges; Essie nail polish: Shore to Please

Happy Weekend! Friday is finally upon us and I'm pretty sure everyone is extra excited because St. Patrick's Day is tomorrow. We hope everyone has a fabulous weekend full of fun and excitement!
This is our favorite segment of the three we took at Asbury Park because of the mixture of bright Spring colors, textures, and proportions. The raspberry colored, laced, cropped tube top, paired with a long, oatmeal colored cardigan, and distressed, white, skinny, denim are paired together in such a fun way especially with the added turquoise, chunky necklace to tie it all together.
Now that Spring weather is finally coming our way, we can't wait to share all the new places and fun ideas we will be positing! See you Monday! :)

Blue by Default

Ann Taylor Loft tank top; Forever 21 blazer, skirt, sunglasses, necklace, ring, rope & linked bracelet; Hand carved, wooden, Plumeria bracelet; Target wedges; J. Crew belt; Essie nail polish: Shore to Please

Segment Two of our little road trip to Asbury Park resulted in this fun Spring outfit.  Again, I have a mixture of prints from the tie-dye tank to the floral, layered mini skirt; the blazer pulls it all together without looking too matchy.
Wedges have become my go-to shoe in the Spring and Summer because they are so versatile and can be worn with a dress, distressed, over-sized denim, shorts, or your favorite pair of skinny jeans.  So look out for them in our future posts.
I hope everyone has had a wonderful week so far, and just think, two more days until Friday!

All Maxi'd Out

Forever 21 crochet top, maxi dress, rings, sunglasses; J. Crew necklace; Target wedges; Gifted blue, beaded bracelet; Essie nail polish:  Absolutely Shore

D'sirre and I were so excited the weather was getting warmer so we decided to take a little road trip down the shore. The next three posts were taken down there and as promised, full of bright colors and diverse outfit choices!
This particular outfit choice was an interesting one because I wanted to use the maxi dress as a skirt and pair it with the crochet top since it isn't quite Summer weather yet. The dress is in fact, strapless, and as you probably have noticed throughout the photos, it was quite breezy since we were so close to the ocean.
(I kept it very light on the accessories since I mixed prints and the colors were so bright and vibrant.)

Color Me Happy :)

Forever 21 blouse, thank top, skirt, necklace, booties, vintage gold bracelets, ring, headband; Gifted beaded bracelet; Thrifted belt; Essie nail polish- Love Me Now, Love Me Not

I have the worst habit of wearing such dark and dreary colors in the Winter. (D'sirre tends to remind me of this little habit all the time.)  When I went down to South Jersey to visit my mom, she suggested we go shopping to add some color to my closet for brighter posts. This one outfit went through a few trial and errors but I have to say its my favorite outfit I have from my transition from Winter to Spring so far.  Recently, there has been a lot of mismatching of prints and colors in the fashion industry and I have to say, I love it! From my tie-dye blouse, and geometric printed headband, and bright colored pencil skirt, you probably wouldn't think these pieces would go together when you saw them on the hanger, but they compliment each other so well and the proportions of them hit the target.
Look out for brighter posts and sunnier days!
Have a great weekend!

Composition Notebook

Forever 21 trench coat, dress, necklace, bracelets; J. Crew headband; Thrifted bag; Madewell riding boots; Gifted elephant ring; Pandora watch; Essie nail polish- Love Me Now, Love Me Not

When I was in grammar school, I remember always being asked to bring a composition notebook to class on my first day to write in as a journal.  When I saw this dress, it brought back memories of being a little girl and writing all my secrets and dreams for myself in those notebooks.
This dress is so versatile, I dressed it down for this post with my riding boots and trench coat, but it can also be dressed up with a colorful pair of heels and blazer.
Stay tuned for upcoming, exciting new posts! :)

One Girl's Trash is Another Girl's Treasure

 Thrifted sequin blazer, bracelet, belt, Madewell leather leggings, Steve Madden pumps, Gifted elephant ring, Forever 21 necklace, H&M clutch, Essie nail polish: Chinchilly

Thrifting has become somewhat of a guilty pleasure for me.  Paying practically nothing for a timeless piece is one of the best feelings in the world.  I have found so many little treasures at thrift shops form designer bags and clothing to brand new dresses that still have the tags on them. Sometimes I don't understand how people could give such things away.  This structured blazer reminded me of Michael Jackson and I knew they would go absolutely perfect with my leather leggings for an 80's feel.  If you have an eye for thrifting, you can find such amazing staple pieces.

Red Rover, Red Rover

 Banana Republic coat, chambray shirt, Forever 21 skirt, jewelry, Marc by Marc Jacobs bag, H&M tights, Madewell riding boots, J. Crew belt, Essie: Chinchilly

The weather has been a bit out of whack on the east coast lately; it seems like it wants to be Spring but the Winter just won't let it happen, and with good reason since its only February! As much as we despise the cold weather, it would be kind of scary if the seasons changed so abruptly.
Wearing pops of color, especially on an all time gloomy day raises my spirits and my mood, especially loud colors like red. Let's face it, with the cold weather upon us its hard to strut our fashions anywhere that isn't inside a building with a coat check, that's why I make sure my coats are just as fabulous as the outfits that go inside them.  This Banana Republic coat is my favorite because it always helps me stand out in a crowd and hits my leg at just the right spot where its long enough to cover my thighs and short enough to still be flattering.
